Renesas Electronics announced on May 11, 2011 that the company will partially resume semiconductor part production at the company’s plant located in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, according to the Japan Today. It is reported that production of the plant is slated to resume on June 1, 2011, two weeks earlier than Renesas previously predicted. Other Renesas' plants are also conducting semiconductor part production, and Renesas aims to restore semiconductor part production to pre-earthquake level by the end of October this year.
